<p style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px">January is always a pivotal time in our process of intention-setting. Some people make resolutions at 11:59 on New Year&#8217;s Eve and they&#8217;re over at 12:01. Other people can set powerful intentions that take hold, grow roots, and become integrated into their daily lives forever.</p>
<p style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px"> </p>
<p style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px">What&#8217;s the big difference? <strong>Acceptance and action.</strong> A resolution without acceptance and action is only a wish. Additionally, when you <strong>hire a Coach</strong>, your chances of success increase even more. You have someone on your side to help you:</p>

<p style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px">Wondering how you turn your wishes into powerful intentions that become part of who you are? </p>
<p style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px"> </p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><strong>First,</strong> you must become aware of what needs to change. (Usually easy.) That cute dress no longer fits. The job&#8217;s not as fun any more. This relationship&#8217;s not working in a way that&#8217;s mutually fulfilling.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"> </p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><strong>Second,</strong> you have to accept things they way they are. (Not quite as easy.) You have to love yourself even though you&#8217;re 40 pounds overweight. You have to accept yourself even though you smoke a pack of Marlboro Lights a day. You have to love your life even though your yard&#8217;s gone to seed and you can&#8217;t grow a decent weed to save your own life. <em>You have to stop putting conditions on your own happiness.</em></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"> </p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><strong>Third,</strong> you have to start consistently applying actions that will make your desired change happen. (Hardest of all.) What makes it so hard is the word, <em>consistently</em>. In order to make lasting changes, you must find the smallest most do-able step and take it. And keep taking it until it&#8217;s second-nature. Until you&#8217;ve taken it so many times you can look back and say, &#8220;Wow, I&#8217;ve come quite a ways.&#8221; And of course, you add more and more actions along the way until you become the You that you really know You are.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"> </p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">So the process of making change happen in your life is just that, a process, and one in which the steps become increasingly harder. No wonder so many people are carrying around handfuls of wishes. </p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"> </p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">And here&#8217;s the thing. <strong>You can do it.</strong> I did it, and that&#8217;s how I know you can. I lost 95 pounds 7 years ago. It took 3 years, but I did it. I also quit smoking 11 years ago. <em><strong>You</strong></em> can become what you want, too.</p>

When I look back on 2011, I see that some of my happiest moments were the ones I spent with family and friends, but those moments were few and far between. So my intentions include creating time with family and friends. <em>But sometimes it&#8217;s not as easy as just saying it, is it?</em></p>

Why do we eat what we eat? When do we really taste the food we are chewing? Why isn’t one sip of Coke, a sliver of a potato chip or a bite of chocolate sheet cake enough? Eating is one of the most fundamental acts we engage in. We need food for nourishment, and what we choose and how we chew it make an enormous difference in our energy and vital functions.<br />
<br />
This is not necessarily a nutrition or weight loss course, though these subjects will be discussed. Our purpose is to dive deeper, increasing your awareness around food and food choices, thus increasing your enjoyment of eating, and therefore life itself. You can learn to identify different types of hunger and use that knowledge to feed yourself wisely. Once you learn to listen to your body in this way, you&#8217;ll find your ideal weight.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last Saturday marked week 1 of my new Yoga Foundations class at <a href="http://www.urbanyogafortworth.com">Urban Yoga </a> here in Fort Worth. This is a class designed primarily for those just starting out on  their yoga journey, so we&#8217;re starting  by building a strong  foundation in alignment, breathing, and yoga philosophy. We had a great first class, just flowing and breathing and getting comfortable with the movements. This coming Saturday, we&#8217;re focusing on opening of the chest, expanding the heart, and thinking about the first yama, ahimsa. (Ahimsa is the concept of non-violence, non-harm, through our thoughts, actions, and words.)</p>
<p>I&#8217;m really looking forward to getting to know my 8 new students, and I&#8217;m excited to watch them grow as they start their journey.</p>
<p>If you or someone you know might be interested in joining us, let me know. You can start this session now and we&#8217;ll prorate your fee. Or, you can sign up for our next session, which I think will start on November 13, though that&#8217;s not confirmed quite yet.  </p>
